November is National Stomach Cancer Awareness Month

Stomach cancer is far more frequent in Asia. However, in 2022 there were approximately 27,000 new cases of stomach cancer. Smoking and alcohol consumption and a history of helicobacter pylori- a nasty bacteria are risk factors for this disease. In Asia, every patient over 40 gets screened for stomach cancer by endosocopy. If you have a family history of stomach cancer, please see your physican.

Signs of stomach cancer include early satiety and unexplained weight loss and nausea, but often patients have no signs or symptoms early in stomach cancer.
