Don't Wait- March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month

So many choices to screen for colon cancer. However, a recent NY times article showed that the Grail test which is a blood test for many cancers did not show any difference.

Colonoscopy not only detects colon cancer, but prevents colon cancer because polyps, the precursors to colon cancer are removed during the colonscopy.

Statistically, 1 in 3 men at 50 and 1 in 4 women at 50 have colon polyps. However, these numbers are increasing, and we are seeing an ever increasing amount of polyps in young people. Why this is happening may be due to increased processed foods in the American diet.
