FIND CRC Study- Find Colorectal Cancer-Study
in addition to caring for our patients, our
practice also participates in clinical research. Being involved in
research helps us stay at the forefront of medical advancements,
including new medications, medical devices, and diagnostic tests.
At this time, we are taking part in a nationwide study focused on
improving early detection of colon cancer. This study is evaluating
a simple blood test that may one day help identify colon cancer at
an earlier stage. The long-term hope is that routine bloodwork
could eventually aid in detecting colon cancers sooner, allowing
for earlier treatment and improved outcomes.
If you choose to participate, the research portion involves only a
single blood draw of approximately 85 milliliters. Participation is
completely voluntary. Choosing not to participate will not affect
your medical care or your relationship with our practice in any
way. All of your information will remain confidential. The entire
visit should take about 20 minutes. As a small token of
appreciation, you would receive $100 for your time. If you need to
make a separate trip to the office specifically for the research visit,
you would also be reimbursed for travel. (You will also receive
additional $75 stipend for follow up blood draws, in 12 and 24
months. Additionally, you will receive a brief questionnaire via
email, and will receive an additional $25 for completing it).
Your participation, should you decide it is right for you, would
contribute to advancing medical knowledge and supporting
ongoing efforts to improve cancer detection and patient care.
Thank you for considering taking part in this study.”
